Amana Washer Troubleshooting | home appliance helpers (2023)

If you're looking for help fixing your Amana washer, look no further! Our comprehensive Amana washer troubleshooting guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and show you how to read your model's error codes.

Amana Washer does not spin
The lid switch assembly prevents the washer from turning when the lid is open. If the lid switch assembly fails, the washer will not spin. To determine if the lid switch assembly is faulty, use a multimeter to test the lid switch for continuity. If the lid switch has no continuity, replace it.

Amana Washer is making loud noise
The bowl bearing is mounted in the middle of the outer bowl. The bowl bearing helps keep the inner bowl turning smoothly. Replacing the bowl bearing is a very complicated repair and will require most of the washer to be disassembled. If the bowl bearing is defective, we recommend replacing the outer bowl and bearing.

Amana Washer will not shake
If the washer does not agitate, replacing the agitator repair kit may solve the problem. The kit contains the agitator components most likely to wear and/or fail. If any of the parts are worn, peeling or damaged, replace the kit.

Amana Washer does not drain
Small objects or items of clothing can sometimes get caught in the drain pump. To determine if something is blocking the drain pump, remove the drain pump and check the pump for blockages. If the drain pump is free of clogs but still makes noise during the drain cycle, replace the drain pump.

Amana Washer vibrating or shaking
One or more shock absorbers may be broken or worn. Dampers dampen washer bowl vibration. If one or more dampers are worn, the washer will vibrate or shake. Sometimes when a washer is moved to another location, the shock absorbers can separate. Check the shock absorbers to ensure they are positioned correctly and inspect them for damage and wear. If one or more shock absorbers are broken or worn, we recommend replacing all shock absorbers as a preventative measure.

Amana Washer fills slowly or doesn't fill at all
The water inlet valve opens to allow water to enter the washing machine. If the water inlet valve is faulty, the wash may fill slowly or not fill at all. The water inlet valve requires sufficient water pressure to function properly. First, check the water pressure to determine if it's adequate. If the water pressure is adequate, try cleaning the screens inside the water inlet valve hose connection ports. If the washer still fills slowly, replace the water inlet valve.

I haven't had this Amana washer for a year. Stopped working. I think when you buy a product with a lower price than the others you think it will last a little but 1 year! It doesn't start, nothing. Piece of shit. Never got clothes as clean as other machines I've owned. Never again Amana! I bought a Menards in Minnesota.

Amana NTW4516FW3: Worst of all, it shakes while filling!!! WHY??? Why would you do that???!!! It rips your clothes!!! I have to wait until it fills up, THEN put my clothes on. Limited water control: it's supposed to auto-detect but runs too little for some loads (I can switch to deep fill until the correct amount of water runs out) and WASTE MY WATER AND DETERGENT running TOO MUCH water for smaller loads; there's no way to stop! Nothing you can do about it!!! :( ONLY RINSES ON COLD! :( So I have to CANCEL the wash before rinsing, and put it back in the wash cycle to rinse in warm or hot water!!!! :( Then I have to take out all the cloths wet until full or it will rip them apart shaking while filling!!!! :( So I cancel the cycle AGAIN, and put it on a spin setting after the rinse as this is the fastest. (The spin I would normally do on the rinse wash cycle is slower and shorter...cloths very damp when finished.) TRIED TO CALL AMANA AND ASK WHY THE WASHER SHAKES WITH AN INCH OR TWO OF WATER WHILE FILLING!!!! were abrupt and could not offer any way to contact or approach the engineers who manufacture this washer.

We purchased an Amana (division of Whirlpool) dishwasher model ADB1400PYW in March 2014. This is just to let consumers know that they should check a new appliance for new parts. In February 2016 we had to replace the control panel board as it was not completing a full cycle and the Clean light was flashing. We did the troubleshooting first before calling our technician. When he removed the old control panel, he noticed something odd. He showed me and my husband a small sticker on the piece. It said REFURBISHED. Why was a refurbished part on a new device? No wonder it broke after not even two years of use. I called Whirlpool and they didn't give any explanation and of course they couldn't offer me any refund because we put a replacement. So be careful when buying an Amana appliance or any Whirlpool.

Amana Washer NTW4516F - If I could give Zero or negative I would. This is the MOST terrible service I have ever had anywhere, I am 65 years old and have lived on 3 continents and 4 countries. Horrible washing machine, terrible service. Washing machine exploded with electrical sparks all over the place after 3 weeks - could have electrocuted the landlady! We are now approaching 4 weeks later and the repair is STILL NOT COMPLETE. I get a lot of sympathy but no action. The local service company never responded to any follow ups or messages left on their awful phone system, and now we have to wait another week to get a second service company there. Amana never offered to make up for having to go to the laundromat for a month, or replace her miserable machine.

I bought an Amana washing machine in December and it died on March 6th. I contacted the company about trying to get a refund and got a form letter and a rude customer service employee... I'm sending them a certified letter and then filing a lawsuit in small court causes to try to get my money back. So save yourself the hassle and buy another brand.

Amana Top Load Washer W10740545A; W10740546A - This washer was purchased from Albert Lee Appliances, Bellevue, WA on 3/31/2015 and installed on 4/7/2015. It failed to operate for the first time on 8/5/2015. Once the appliance is installed, customers are on their own and Albert Lee hands the repair over to a company called Appliance Hospital, Seattle, WA. Doesn't seem like a good business decision not to also be responsible for repair, as how can they gauge which products reliably serve their customers? and the washer worked. He left with the promise that a new controller would be ordered - not received or installed as of this date. So it looks like we're involved with an intermittent glitch. This does not translate into reliability concerns on the part of Albert Lee Appliances, Appliance Hospital and especially Amana-Whirlpool. Apparently none of these companies are concerned about having an adequate number of repair parts locally stocked. I would recommend other buyers not to consider doing business with the above items.

I bought my Amana top loading washer in April 2014. Most of my laundry isn't heavily soiled so I didn't think much of it for a while. However, becoming more obvious now that my clothes aren't clean enough. I garden and have a dog so sometimes my socks get dirty and my clothes get dirty when the dog jumps. My whites are not white and the dirty areas do not come out. I've had my previous Whirlpool washer for over 20 years and haven't had this problem. I checked the manual to make sure I'm using the right detergent and loading the washer correctly, but it didn't fix the problem. I liked the price, capacity and simple model of the washer I bought, but I am not satisfied with the cleaning results. I don't want to have to buy another one, and I always thought Amana was a reliable brand, but I personally couldn't recommend it to others.

One they are not behind their products. I received an Amana washer that the detection device does not work on it. I didn't even shake it to wash the clothes and in fact you have to turn it off and on again to get the water out to get the clothes out. I called the company and they don't stand by their products and they don't care that it will be another 4 weeks before I get another washer and I certainly will never want another Amana washer again.

We are a single couple with few loads to run. After 3 years, our Amana front load washer circuit board burned out. It was replaced with a new one for three hundred dollars. 3 years after installing the replacement, the replacement went wrong. This is a part of the circuit board that everyone says is no longer available because the manufacturer doesn't want to replace it anymore. So to summarize: original cost of new front loading Amana originally: $560. Cost of first replacement circuit board $385. (Replacement part lasted 2 years). New cost to replace our Amana washer $600. New cost to ship Amana washer $50. Wow! My total of $1,595. It used to be that Amana was a big name. I will never buy from them again.

We bought this washer on 11/11/10 because my washer finally dropped after

We purchased this washer on 11/11/10 because my washer finally let go after 18 years of wonderful service. I've had A&E at my house 6 times to fix this washing machine, the main problem was it was chewing and tearing my clothes and leaking so the gasket around the door would fall off which was replaced several times. The motherboard and transmission were also replaced. Now, 15 months after purchasing this machine and 6 visits later, it has happened again. The machine ruined my daughter's brand new coat along with my postal uniform. I finally got angry, so I triggered my extended warranty (I thought it would be a good idea to get another 4 years of coverage just in case). The woman I spoke to was really nice and really tried to get me a new washing machine, but since I've only used the extended warranty once, I have to give them another chance to fix it before she can do that. So she scheduled me an appointment with e-services. The gentleman called me and asked what was happening with the washer. I give him all the details and he tells me it's an ongoing problem with that model and they made a replacement part for the one that broke so he went and ordered it. The next morning he called me just surprised as I am to tell me that the warranty department denied the claim. Wow! So I call Home Depot's warranty department back and tell her what's happening now. So from now on, it's a waiting game. She is calling the company to see what they can do for me. So I hope Home Depot does the right thing and keeps their sale, as Amana has been nothing but obnoxious to me and pretty unhelpful throughout this whole thing. My next step is to contact a lawyer and find another one who has received the same result, because then we can go after Amana in full force.

NOTICE. The Amana washing machine I bought does not wash clothes. He moves the clothes and wets some of them. I tried manually adding water to the wash cycles and rinsing with a bucket. I recently injured my back and was unable to hand wash my clothes with this piece of poop. I finally had enough and upgraded to an automatic clothes washer that agitates the clothes instead of me. This Amana HE washer is the slowest and least efficient manual washing machine on the market. I had the piece of junk taken to the dump before picking up the model. It was an Amana HE without an agitator. Not to be sold as a washing machine. Misleading advertising.

I bought a new Amana 3.5 Cu. Ft. Superior Cargo Washer with Dual Action

I bought a new Amana 3.5 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer with Dual Action Agitator (Model NTW4516FW2) July 2018 from Home Depot. The product completely stopped working after just over 2.5 years of normal use in a small 2-person household. According to the repair representative, the controller has stopped working and needs to be replaced at a cost of over $500, which would be more than the price paid. The product lasted less than a quarter of its 12-year life expectancy. A call to the company that owns Amana (Whirlpool) did not provide any relief such as a discount on a replacement purchase or credit towards other Whirlpool products.

I bought an Amana frontloader (Model #NFW7200TW) 4 years ago at Home Depot. The machine stopped draining and started showing the error code (nd = not draining). I called a repairman and he diagnosed the problem as a bad relay for the pump. He said that since the relay was encapsulated in resin on the back of the control panel, I would have to buy a new panel. Later, when he called me to give me the part number, he said the part was in stock nationwide and would cost $400.00 when it was available on 10/15. I did some checking online and found that the W10273828 part is indeed on hold and no one has one. This seems to mean that this part is a definite weak link and this model should be recalled. On this site, there are several posts with the same problem.

I recently bought a new house where appliances were part of the package. They were all new so I figured it was ok. I bought liquid fabric softener to put in the rinse cycle, but I ALWAYS missed that cycle. Finally I sat upstairs next to my laundry room and waited and listened. My washer NEVER fills with water for the rinse cycle. My clothes have had soap residue for months! This is bullshit! Plus, the lid always locks so you NEVER see how the machine actually washes your clothes. After noticing that my washer never rinsed my clothes, I went online to see other complaints I could read about this company, and I'm not the only person who said their clothes never rinse. What sense does that make??? A washer that doesn't rinse??? This company should be ashamed of itself. Now every time I wash my clothes I have to go upstairs and do a separate rinse cycle. How stupid is that?

This is the worst washing machine I've ever had. We bought in May

This is the worst washing machine I've ever had. We bought it in May 2014 and to my dismay found that it wouldn't fill in the rinse cycle. My clothes always had soap residue. I read the manuals carefully and it indicated that when manually adding fabric softener, let the rinse tub fill up. Never happened. We called the repairman who recalibrated it so it supposedly would work properly. He had barely left when the red button on the lock cover began to flash. It was out of cycle again. Still not filled. I have to go for another rinse cycle to rinse my clothes. My advice to anyone... DO NOT BUY AN AMANA WASHER, THEY ARE SANDPAPER!!!

Bought an Amana top loading washing machine in December 2018 from Home D

Purchased an Amana top loading washing machine in Dec 2018 from Home Depot. It worked fine for about a year. Then after that the problems started. He failed to completely clean the clothes, leaving them soggy and dirty. It started making horrible loud noises constantly, stuck on certain cycles and wouldn't complete others, stopped shaking clothes all at once. The control panel was completely out of whack as of August 2020 and basically beyond repair (by more than one repairman). It completely stopped working in December 2020, exactly 2 years after the original purchase date. So I was forced to buy another washing machine (not Amana). Amana washing machines are a total waste of money and they don't last!!! I regret buying big time... learned the hard way how shoddy they really are. Do not buy.

When there were manual controls, you could set a machine to do whatever you wanted and walk away, knowing that the wash cycle you selected, regardless of your reasons, would do what you asked and come back knowing it was done. With the electronic controls, I must wrestle with the stupid machine to make it rinse or spin as needed, fill as needed, or whatever (wash heavily soiled gardening clothes thoroughly or wash hockey equipment). Automatic settings regularly fail. Very frustrating.

It's been over 2 months since I've been without my washer. it is not

It's been over 2 months since I've been without my washer. It's not even a year old yet. The first time I called Amana it was a rush. The person I spoke with was very rude, he didn't even send my information to the IAM Appliance in Piqua, Ohio. So I took the day off work to wait for someone. When they didn't show up, I called IAM and asked why no one showed up. They said they didn't have any information that they should be out. So I called Amana back and the guy I spoke to was really rude and said, Looks like it didn't ship. Then he told me I had to call somewhere else, that he couldn't call, I had to call. So I called and no answer so I called Amana back and they again were very rude. Then finally they send my information to the IAM device. A week later, on Tuesday, a technician showed up. He looked at my washer after I had already explained what was wrong, it was the latch on the lid that wouldn't lock, it would fill up and that was it. So the following Tuesday he went out and asked for a lid lock, the board and another piece all parts worked but the lid lock. So here's another week of waiting. It came out again the following Tuesday that the lid latch did not work. Each time he left, something didn't work. Then the board didn't work on the new one he had replaced. This went on for over a month. So I called corporate. I talked to a lady last Monday. She said she would send me a new washing machine. I bought my new washer today. They told me I was getting a Whirlpool but I'm going for another Amana, same model number. They took the old washing machine today and that machine doesn't work, it doesn't wash clothes. It fills the drum, does not wash clothes or spin, and the lid lock works but when it finishes, the clothes are dripping. So this is another lost one. I will not recommend Amana or Whirlpool to anyone. Since they've been around for a while, I figured they'd make a great home appliance. I don't think so. So now I'm out of the washing machine and here goes washing my clothes in the tub again!! Very unhappy!! DO NOT BUY AMANA.

6/4/2015 - The lid on my less than 2 month old Amana washer broke and I called customer service. The rep is extremely apologetic and told me that someone will be out on 6/9/15 to fix it and that they will call the day before to confirm. 06/08/2015 - Unfortunately, no calls were received. 6/9/2015 - I call the service company to see if anyone is coming to look at my washer. Their response was No, Amana gave us the wrong phone number so when we couldn't reach you we had to cancel. I then call Amana back, confirm that they indeed have the wrong phone number, correct this issue (or so I thought) and try to make another appointment. After two hours of dogged resistance, I manage to make an appointment scheduled for 6/10/2015. 6/10/2015 - The repairman looks at my washer and after five minutes he identifies the problem and tells me he will need to order a part. He then says he shouldn't have any problems getting the role by 6/12/2015. 12/06/2015 - The day comes and goes without incident. 6/15/2015 - I call the repair company who tell me the part is on backlog and won't be available until at least 6/30/2015. Later I call Amana one more time, correct my phone number a second time (see I was coming back to this) and try to see if there is another solution. The customer service rep I'm speaking with told me it is what it is and that's the best she can do. I ask to speak to her supervisor, who I'm transferred to, who tells me that, in fact, he can't do anything to help expedite the process either, but that someone can call me in 3-5 business days to let me know about it. The piece. At this point I ask, So you've made a defective product, misrecorded my information at least twice, caused me to miss a service appointment due to negligence, and still haven't accepted any responsibility for the situation at hand. .how is this an acceptable resolution? After a pause he says, so yeah, in three to five business days someone might call you about that part... Dumbfounded, I hung up and angrily devoured a cheeseburger to help me deal with my lack of progress, ironically spilling ketchup down my pants in the process. I can at least try to remove the stain in about 3-5 business days.

We bought an Amana washer in Feb 2015. We bought the biggest headache ever. Right before the manufacturer's warranty expired, we had our first big problem, the washer wouldn't drain and would spin. They came to fix it. Three months later, no water came in. They came to fix it. A few months later it went back to not rotating and draining. A few months later we had to call back and the leveler was out. Now I'm calling you back, it's so loud you can't take it. Do not buy from Amana. Never actually did the laundry. Bought a new Amana washing machine, top loader. repair personnel only

Bought a new Amana washing machine, top loader. Repair people just left. Oil was leaking from under the front. They said: Two to three weeks for the new engine and other parts. I was told to continue using it. My concern is if there is no oil how can the engine run and the engine is the main part with additional parts. How can I continue to use it? This is a security concern. If the engine has to be replaced because the oil has run out, does it not overheat, causing a fire hazard or further damage to the appliance? Updated 9/25/2015: The repairman has just left after six weeks of waiting for six new parts including engines. Everything below the top. It had leaked oil on the floor. No water damage. Just the engine and all its internal parts. This was a new product not a refurbished product so I paid full price. After the ninth load of clothes this happened and less than ninety days I didn't use my washing machine. Much to my disgust, I was not offered a replacement for a new product, nor was I refunded for my inconvenience. I'm having trust issues right now using my newly repaired new product. This is troubling to me. It is for this reason that I would have to rate this product a ZERO.

MOD:NTW4605EW0 Type: 587-20 - This product is the worst I have ever used. My husband and I are in our late 50s on a fixed income and have recently survived on stem cells. We had to save up for months to buy this washer. Now, knowing that wouldn't be the best, you still have a reasonable expectation that your laundry will be done. This is not the case with this washer. I took items out of the washing machine that never hit the water and were still dirty. You can't make any adjustments to the water level, the agitator is very ineffective and solid as everything is an effort to do a basic task. I bought Amana in the past and have not regretted it so far. This is unacceptable as it misleads the public that this is a washing machine. It's really just an oversized basket. If this sounds like I am not happy with this product. So sorry to say YES I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT! When you pay $250-$300 you expect at the very least to clean your laundry!

I was told it was a great washer, but I've been having a huge problem with it. It broke after buying it a month. I fixed it 4 times and I think I'm going to sell it because it's not good. Don't waste your money and time on this product. I feel like I was ripped off by the company because of this faulty product.

My daughter bought a washer in August 2015. Two months later, in October 2015, the lid locked and could not be opened. She called Amana to duty. It took 2 weeks for someone to go to her house and take a look. He ordered parts, 2 weeks later he placed the parts. It still didn't work. Without all the details, it's been three months and six repairmen's visits and the washer still hasn't been fixed. Now they are saying the repairman is in her area only twice a week and only in the morning. She works in the morning and is available in the afternoon. This very bad service and product that Amana is providing. This washer should have already been replaced with a new one. NEVER again will our family buy an Amana product.

I just bought an Amana top loader washer a few weeks ago. So far it's doing a great job. Two years ago I spent over $2,000.00 on a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer. After two years, the washing machine started to sound like an airplane taking off. I called Maytag and it would cost over $400.00 to fix. I did a lot of research on this and found that most washers do this. I think Maytag should recall due to a defect in the washer design. Until then, I'll stick with Amana, which is from the same company. How funny.

This machine does not wash clothes very well. Everything must be hand washed first. So for lightly soiled items it would be nice to be able to just rinse and spin/dry. But even this small feature is impossible to isolate. Spinning leaves clothes very wet. The rinse cycle adds more water than the wash cycle and takes forever. Remember I'm getting the dirt out by hand washing the clothes. The wash cycle does such a bad job. When I put the quilt in the wash, the water level didn't wet more than half of the quilt. Then I manually filled it with water from the sink. The washer released the water. So I wasted all that soap and effort. I took the cover to the laundry. This machine does not wash clothes well. He has a reason for being home: to do laundry, and I'm doing laundry by hand or going to a laundromat. #fail.

I have purchased several washers of this model over the past few years. Never. I had to call a service technician to fix it five different times. They replaced a coupler, transmission, motor, solenoid and issue of not deflating. I bought the five year extended warranty because the one year warranty increased by about three months when the first one broke. So the repairman came out to fix it. It would cost me more than replacing it with a new one (which keeps breaking). I will never buy an Amana again.

Bought an Amana washer nine years ago and the washer has only been used once

Bought an Amana washer nine years ago and the washer is only used once a week. And you would think it would last longer. We're talking about two loads a week. It will cost $300 to fix. What happened to the ability of some of our gadgets? And I noticed that if I had a family, it would have broken down sooner, but if it was just me, it would have taken longer. All the complaints I've discovered so far are mostly about the seal and water leaking at the bottom. So I spent $75 to have a repairman tell me it would cost $300. How can Amana keep making these washers without having a recall? The model number is NAV2330AWW, serial number NO1004341EG. I've seen this model mentioned in several complaints. I will never buy another Amana brand item. It's not fair when a company has been around forever and continues to make low quality products. Who can you trust, who defends your name by saying we are the best, who consciously manufactures and sells a product with a short shelf life? This is Amana. It's all about profit and not about a positive reputation. It's my fault for not Googling Amana's complaints about their washers. This would have saved me at least $75 for the diagnostic repair fee.

We bought an Amana washing machine. I noticed that there was a bad smell in my pantry that was so strong that sometimes it even came out of other parts of the house. We had no idea where the odor was coming from. We checked the septic system thinking maybe that could be where it was coming from and even had the septic pumped. Still, the odor kept coming and we couldn't figure out where the odor was coming from. Then we noticed that the water did not drain completely from the washing machine. It just sits there because it doesn't turn all the water. I tried to get the machine repaired, but they didn't do anything because they said my warranty had expired. I am very unhappy with this product.

This is the worst washing machine I have ever used! You cannot wet any clothes

This is the worst washing machine I have ever used! You can't get any clothes wet because if you go out with the lid open during the filling cycle and you don't close the lid in 10 minutes, it pumps the water out. There's no way to delay the wash cycle to wet a load of clothes. The ascent cycle fills with cold water, does not agitate and pumps water immediately. When I'm done pumping out water (there's no way to stop this action), I need to turn the selector knob to rinse to rinse the laundry. This results in twice as much water being used for rinsing. Talk about a bad machine. I had a repairman replace the control panel, but it only worked for a week. My advice - DO NOT BUY AMANA PRODUCTS!

My husband and I purchased a new Amana front load washer in May of 2009.

My husband and I purchased a new Amana front load washer in May 2009. Last week, March 5, 2011, it broke down. It started to hum. When I went to check, the washer had the code “ND” and would not open. The first girl I spoke to was Samantha. She told me that she couldn't find this code on her computer (on the net it says it means no drain, it's probably true) but she told me how to unlock the washer. Eventually it worked. My washing machine still had dirty water and soap in it. I dealt with the soapy mess and then did my laundry at my in-laws' house. When I called back to talk to them about why my washer wouldn't work and what they could do to help me, I wasn't told anything. I spoke to a manager and was told the same thing. The only thing they were willing to do was give me one more guarantee. Which means I fix that repair and a year's warranty on the piece of junk in my basement. My washing machine won't be 3 until May. There is no reason for it to be broken. I also did my own research and many people complained about the same issue. I think this washer should be recalled or at least the company should fix it at no cost to the consumer. This appears to be an ongoing issue with this model. We bought it thinking we were buying from a good company. Now, I'm stuck with a pile of scrap metal until the repairman comes out, thanks to a warranty I have to pay out of pocket.

I bought this Amana washing machine on March 23, 2015. On February 27, 2016 this problem occurred: I turn on the washing machine, but as soon as the wash is full of water it does not go through to wash and does not lock to start the wash cycle. The water drains away and then I have to start washing everything again. So I thought it was the lid switch and my solution was to push the lid hard enough until it clicked. This worked for several months. Another problem occurred on 12 Aug 2016: my load would complete the cycle, but when I open the lid, I can clearly see that the clothes are soaked, this means that during the drain/spin cycle, the speed was too slow to fully squeeze all clothes water. So my next solution was to just start the drain/spin cycle, but again. With all these issues that keep popping up, we decided to use our warranty, so we called in to fix the washer. We called HHGregg to fix the washer and gave them all the detailed information about the problems and possible solutions for this. Their representatives' solution was to replace the washer because they felt that the necessary repairs to the washer cost more than the washer was worth. Well, we were shocked, because this washer is only 18 months old, so how can its value decrease so quickly in less than 2 years? I did some research and found that the drain/spin and cap switch is a very common problem with Amana washers. So we understand we get what we pay for. So back to replacing the washer with HHGregg. They sent us a new washer for the same price as our old purchase. Again, we bought the first washer in March (we got a St. Patrick's Day sale price) and are now getting this new washer that is smaller and still an Amana. HHGregg refuses to fix it, they prefer to give us a lower capacity washer and it would probably last a year but no more than 2 years. In short, we were scammed by HHGregg because they saved us repair costs and gave us a lesser value washer than the one we originally started with. Oh yeah, we had to pay taxes obviously so they profited from that too. AMANA WASHERS ARE TERRIBLE!!! Save your money and buy a more reliable washer!!!

I have Amana Washer in my apartment. When I first used it, I noticed my clot

I have Amana Washer in my apartment. When I first used it I noticed my clothes weren't clean so I did some research to make sure I was using the right detergent. I was using the right detergent. Water never got into the washer. Just sprinkled the clothes with water. I had to hand wash the clothes to get them clean. This has been going on for over a year now. Management claims they called a licensed Amana dealer. I took pictures and sent them to Amana and the apartment managers. The apartment managers even came out and were told the machine wasn't working. We had a crash in December and the machine now makes a terrible noise. Then the guy who cleans the yard came and hung up. After a year without working properly and without repair and now they want me to replace the machine that was already damaged. The guy who works here claims he can't remember it not working. This guy stood there and really lied. If you look at the pictures there is very little water. You have to have water to wash clothes. These were taken in January 2015.

I just purchased an Amana Top Load washer and so far I am happy with it.

I just bought an Amana Top Load washer and so far I'm happy with it, which is why I'm writing this review. People usually only write reviews when they don't like a product or service and it's misleading when you only read a few negative comments. A lot of people complain about the controls, but didn't you look at these things in the store before you bought them? Obviously not and now you want to complain?

I bought an Amana washer and paid over $400.00 for it brand new

I bought an Amana washer and paid over $400.00 for it brand new in the box. It took 1 year before the door that automatically locks the top door broke and on the front of the control panel it's flashing and it says door lock. It'll cost me 90.00 for a new lock. If that's the problem - if not then they said it's the circuit board. It cost 230.00. I will never buy another device with this name.

My washer has preset water level settings! my clothes b

My washer has preset water level settings! My clothes barely get wet and the washer stops adding water and starts washing! I bought the washing machine about 4 years ago! It's almost useless! I have to add water by hand and I wash certain pieces twice! My washer leaks periodically too. The repairman came and he told me I had to tell him where it was leaking from to get it fixed. So we couldn't leak it while it was here, so it was never fixed and it still leaks! He also said there is no way to change the preset water levels! Thank goodness my washing machine is in the garage or my house would have been flooded dozens of times! Jax, FL D.
